Mesterolone, also known as Proviron, is a drug that is often overlooked but can be a valuable addition to a bodybuilder’s regimen. It is not a typical anti-estrogen but rather an anabolic steroid derived from dihydrotestosterone. The structure of the Mesterolone molecule is similar to that of Methenolone, with the difference being comparable to that between men and women.

Although Mesterolone is mostly considered an aromatase inhibitor, it also has partial activity as an estrogen receptor blocker. Its unique dual nature sets it apart from other compounds. One interesting property of Mesterolone is its ability to increase the amount of free testosterone in the blood by binding to sex hormone-binding globulin and reducing its activity. This increase in free testosterone is highly beneficial for athletes.

Many athletes use Mesterolone for 5-7 days in the middle of an anabolic steroid cycle to take advantage of its ability to increase free testosterone levels. Some researchers consider Mesterolone more of an anti-androgen and suggest it may not be appropriate to use during anabolic steroid cycles. However, this viewpoint may not be entirely accurate.

Mesterolone is commonly used during pre-competition preparation to enhance muscle hardness and definition. Actors and models also utilize it before photoshoots to emphasize muscularity. Another interesting aspect of Mesterolone is its ability to significantly increase libido in men, often leading to spontaneous erections. This makes it valuable when combined with compounds that can lower libido, such as Trenbolone, Nandrolone, Norethandrolone, and Ethylestrenol. When using Mesterolone for post-cycle therapy, it is usually combined with drugs like Tamoxifen (Nolvadex) or Clomiphene (Clomid).

The daily dosage of Mesterolone typically ranges from 25 to 100 mg, which translates to 1-4 tablets.

It is important to remember that the use of Mesterolone, like any other anabolic steroid, should be approached with caution and under the guidance of a healthcare professional. Adherence to recommended dosages and precautions is essential for minimizing potential risks and side effects.
